Dance Bridges Festival in association with Buoyant Performing Arts & The Doodle Room bring you an evening of live music and dance improvisation on February 8th, 2020 from 7-9 PM at The Doodle Room (51 B Garcha Road, Opp. Hazra Law College, Kolkata 700019.)
The guest artist will remain a surprise and will be disclosed on the evening itself. The band will share songs from recent compositions talking also about their creative process in working on projects. The floor will be opened to those who would like to move to the impulse of sound and stories behind the music. Dancers, movers and music lovers are all invited for this promising time of dance and music interactions.

LAIREN MATHEK MOVEMENT WORKSHOP | 20TH FEBRUARY 4-8 PM
Dance Bridges Festival in collaboration with Sparsh Studio for Performing Arts and Buoyant Performing Arts presents a movement workshop ‘Lairen Mathek’ by Surjit Nongmeikapam.
About the workshop:
This workshop is based on the philosophy of “LAIREN MATHEK” of the Manipuri martial art form, Thang-Ta (Khuthek Lal Thek) and Dance (Jagoi).
The workshop will focus on building an in-depth understanding of our body with the help of our movement. Participants will work more deeply with on breathing, impulse , weight shifting, momentum, and use of the spine during this workshop. The session promises to be fun and intense at same time.

Surjit Nongmeikapam( Bonbon) is a choreographer , dancer , movement teacher , and performance artist. He finished his Bachelors degree in Choreography from Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography, Bangalore. He is trained in classical/ traditional, Indian martial arts to contemporary dance and movement.
He started dance and choreography professionally in 2004 and since then he hasn’t looked back.
