Playful Body (Contemporary Dance Workshop) Maxime and Francesco, pedagogues graduated from the National Dance Centre in Lyon, offer a contemporary dance class where they develop a specific awareness of body’s weight and space. This workshop is an open workshop for all levels. The participants begin by focusing on their breath, and feeling how the air enters different parts of the body, expanding and contracting the muscles and joints naturally. Moving from individual exploration to group awareness, the dancers will then find ways to build a genuine connection between breath and movement, letting their bodies respond naturally to the energy within.Please arrive 15 minutes earlier, dress comfortably and carry a snack. Paper Dress Crafting Workshop FakeKnot’s artistic director, Ralph Escamillan brings you into the creative process for his recent work, Croquis. Central to this work is the materiality and structure of a garment constructed entirely out of paper, which is created new each time the work is performed. In this workshop. Ralph takes you on a crafting journey—sharing his unique process for building the paper dress. Please arrive 15 minutes earlier, dress comfortably and carry a snack. Recommended for ages 16+.
