STRANGE AGE is a window into today’s youth: 13 young dancers from the COLINE training program. The documentary reveals behind-the-scenes of the creation, for pieces by Dominique Bagouet, Joanne Leighton, Thomas Lebrun, Alban Richard among others. We follow the students in this creation process-through dance studios, bistros, a minibus-testifying to their daily lives filled with desires, doubts, frustrations, and joys.

It’s the end of the world and I’m dancing in a basement / I walk the streets at dawn / everyone’s a friend on a Sunday morning / it’s the end of the world and I can’t wait / I expect nothing / less than everything / it’s the end of the world and I haven’t managed to finish a single book / I’m still looking at the screen / it’s the end of the world and I’m getting nowhere / safe / or even familiar / it’s the end of the world and I still don’t know how to dance / I’m free at last / it’s the end of the world / and the beginning of our lives.

DISTANTIME| PIERANDREA ROSATO (Italy)
Concept:
Distantime is a video project developed as a virtual adaptation during the pandemic of the choreographic section “Echoing”, originally created by Pierandrea Rosato as part of the group piece Jack – Folkwang TanzStudio (2020). The work explores relationships across distance, time, and waiting. Dancers communicate from afar, evoking memories and performing identical gestures that recall the shared feelings connecting them, whether as lovers, friends, or siblings. The search for the other becomes a search for time itself. Through a ritualistic choreography marking the passage of the day, from dawn to dusk, the dance expresses the universal desire for closeness and connection despite physical separation.
